Cost Management Senior Manager
Cost Accountant: own cost allocation, analysis & inventory control, tackle variances & support FP&A. Need 4–5+ yrs (10+ overall), advanced Excel & Power Query/Pivot. Manufacturing & CPA a plus.
Cost Accountant — Where the Numbers Meet the Bottom Line
Every product has a true cost — and most companies only think they know theirs. You're the person who actually knows. We're looking for a hands-on cost accounting leader to own how we track, analyse, and optimise cost across the business, turning raw data into the insights that drive real profitability.
If you get a genuine thrill from cracking a cost variance, building a model that finally makes sense of the numbers, and showing leadership where the money's really going — keep reading.
What you'll own
Cost accounting management — You'll oversee the full spread of cost accounting: allocation, analysis, and cost/inventory control. You'll build and maintain costing systems that track product costs accurately, own balance sheet reconciliations and corporate-policy compliance, and analyse inbound/outbound freight and customs costs globally — working with logistics to get them recorded accurately and on time. You'll dig into cost variances and trends, then turn them into recommendations that sharpen efficiency and profitability.
Process improvement — You'll hunt down opportunities to streamline cost accounting, tighten reporting accuracy and timeliness, and implement best practices that lift overall cost visibility — driving continuous improvement as you go.
Cross-functional collaboration — You'll partner with operations, procurement, logistics, and finance to gather the right cost data and keep everything aligned to company objectives, serving as the go-to subject matter expert on all things cost accounting. You'll foster a culture of transparency and accountability by communicating cost information clearly across the organisation.
FP&A support — You'll assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing insight into cost drivers and financial impact. You'll prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management, and run financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions and resource allocation.
Data modelling & analysis — You'll put advanced Excel to work building and maintaining complex cost and reporting models, extracting and manipulating large datasets from multiple sources, and analysing them for trends, patterns, and anomalies — delivering sharp, actionable analytics straight to senior management in Ops Accounting and FP&A.
You'll thrive here if you have
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's or CPA preferred)
4–5+ years in cost accounting or a related role, ideally in manufacturing or similar — with 10+ years overall across progressive accounting and financial analysis roles
Strong Excel proficiency, including advanced functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, complex formulae)
Data modelling and analysis experience, ideally with Power Query, Power Pivot, or similar
A solid grasp of accounting and FP&A concepts, with the ability to turn financial data into action
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
A proven ability to juggle priorities and hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting software (a plus)
A continuous-learning mindset, ready to adapt to evolving business needs and technology
A track record as a hands-on accounting leader who coaches and develops talent
Why you'll love it
This is cost accounting with genuine influence. Your analysis will shape pricing, operations, and strategy — and your insights will land directly on the desks of senior leadership. Real ownership, real impact, and the room to build systems that outlast you.
