Accounts Payable Officer
The Accounts Payable Officer (AP Officer) will take responsibility for processing of all expenditure for the company using various systems that are in place, under the guidance of the CFO, and working with the Corporate Store staff and other employees.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
Overview:
- Timely payment of all suppliers (weekly and monthly payment runs)
- Weekly reimbursement of all employees for expense claims (Prospend) exported to MYOB
- Weekly check and exporting of employee virtual card claims (Prospend) to MYOB
- Weekly NAB Credit card reconciliations and following up missing invoices
- Uploading and managing all supplier invoices through the appropriate system (Traild) in order to ensure appropriate approvals are obtained before batching to MYOB
- Checking for accuracy with regards to GL accounts, cost centres and GST
- Reconciling supplier statements monthly
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts relating to suppliers eg. Accounts Payable
- Responsibility for the accounts@sleepys.com.au shared mailbox, forwarding any messages on that need to be actioned by other Team Members
- Contribute to a strong cooperative culture within Sleepy’s support office
- Identifying improvements in process and liaising with CFO to implement change
- Daily Bank reconciliations
- Setting up bank transfers between accounts
- Answering phone calls
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field (preferred but not required).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar Accounts Payable function
- Familiar with retail or inventory-based environments
- Skills G Competencies:
- Proficiency in web-based expense management systems or similar
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software commonly used in Australia (e.g., MYOB).
