Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in providing timely, accurate, and actionable financial reporting and analysis to support operations across the business, with a focus on packhouse, farm operations, and capital projects. This role involves close coordination with operational teams, finance staff, and external suppliers to ensure data integrity and optimal financial decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare fortnightly and monthly operational reports for the Packhouse, including performance trends, cost analysis, and variance reporting.
- Compile and deliver weekly and monthly Pick Reports for internal farm performance monitoring.
- Produce the Fortnightly Glasshouse Operational Report detailing greenhouse operations, efficiencies, and cost tracking.
- Develop and maintain the Fortnightly Maintenance Report to support equipment reliability and cost control.
- Maintain and update the Waste Report, highlighting key waste metrics, drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyse utility usage across all operational areas and identify trends, variances, and savings opportunities.
- Monitor Capex projects across all farms, ensuring spend tracking, reporting against budget, and milestone tracking.
Financial Operations
- Ensure accurate allocation of labour hire invoices to the relevant tasks and departments based on activities performed.
- Manage end-of-month (EOM) tasks, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations to support timely month-end close.
- Support the Pick and Pack analysis function for Berry Farms, helping to link labour and cost data to yield outcomes.
Systems & Vendor Management
- Set up and verify new suppliers in EFTSURE, ensuring secure and correct bank account verification.
- Develop and maintain light graphs and dashboards to visualize financial and operational performance, aiding quick decision-making.
Essential requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a financial analyst or reporting role, preferably in agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing.
- Strong Excel skills: experience with ERP systems and reporting tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
The position is required to communicate with:
- Experience in agricultural or farm-based industries.
- Familiarity with cost allocation, variance analysis, and productivity reporting.
