Accountant III
Job Summary
The Accountant III supports the balance sheet and general ledger ensuring compliance to US GAAP and Corporate Accounting Policies while seeking out opportunities for process improvement to have more efficient and effective workloads. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger records, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting accounting for US based companies and exposure to the application of resale tax certificates in multi-state environments.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist in financial close process, including but not limited to preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations
Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting
Maintain the general ledger system and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Review and validate resale certificates for compliance with tax regulations.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements within the general ledger function.
Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes
Assist in financial and statutory audit preparation
Completes special projects as assigned
Assist other teams as necessary to assure timely accounting processes.

Qualifications
What are the non-negotiable requirements?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
5+ years accounting experience for US based companies
Focus on General Accounting background
Journal entry preparations (accruals, prepayments, bank transactions etc), fixed asset accounting, payroll accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, etc
Experience with 3-10 journal entries a day during month end closing
BDA standard or acceptable number as it relates to these items during the month end close:
Number of Balance sheet reconciliations prepared monthly- 5-15 accounts per month
Experience in monthly book closing
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
Superb attention to detail, strong planning and excellent organization skills
Able to manage multiple priorities; demonstrates flexibility as priorities change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience with at least 2 Accounting ERP Systems (Oracle, Netsuite, SAP, Peoplesoft, Xero, High Radius, etc). If Quickbooks + SAP, Quickbooks+Oracle Netsuite, QuickBooks+ MS Dynamics, Quickbooks+PeopleSoft, and Quickbooks+High Radius are all good
What are the requirements you can be flexible on?
CPA preferred but not required
International experience is a plus, specifically in UK, France, and Germany. Includes experience with multiple entities, foreign transactions, multiple currencies, and non-US accounting standards
Experience with Oracle EBS preferred or similar major ERP system
Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills (advanced formulas a plus)
Exposure to financial system tools such as Blackline, Hyperion/Smartview, Tableau
Experience supporting accounting for US based companies and exposure to the application of resale tax certificates in multi-state environments.
