Payroll and Accounts Payable (AP) Officer
The purpose of the Payroll and Accounts Payable (AP) Officer is to work within the finance team and process payroll and oversee accounts payable (AP), ensuring compliance with employment law, SCHADS Award, and internal policies. Provide accurate payroll services and manage key payables.

Daily Tasks
Process Disability Support Worker (DSW) fortnightly and supplementary pay runs
Process Internal Staff pay runs
Conduct SCHADS compliance reviews
Set up new starters in Payroll system
Manage and oversee Payroll inbox
Process Workers Compensation claims payments and ensure insurance is up to date
Manage supplier and bills payment, debit card reconciliations, and payables reports.
Prepare payroll tax returns
Provide shared support for ADHOC payroll and issue resolution
Compliance tasks related to Payroll (including but not limited to PLSL and superannuation)
Other tasks related to the ongoing function of the finance department as required

Role Requirements
5+ years in payroll and accounts payable
Knowledgeable about SCHADS Award and payroll legislation (preferred but not required)
Experience with large-scale payroll systems
Proven ability to manage compliance and reporting requirements
Strong stakeholder communication skills
Strong financial analysis, strategic planning, and decision making skills
Excellent knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards
Certificates and/ or Qualifications
Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
A recognised qualification such as the CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred but not required
NDIS worker orientation module
Relevant state or national clearances
Personal characteristics
Demonstrated leadership to inspire and motivate a team to work towards a common goal
A commitment to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face to face
Willing to take calculated risks to drive the company forward
