Role Description and Responsibilities

To provide support to the Finance Function by completing bank, merchant and adhoc reconciliations,

and providing specific support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Assistance to ensure that sales and transactions for retail and online sales channels are processed

correctly.

• Consistent communication to the Retail Operations team to ensure that daily processes are being

conducted correctly within stores.

• Consistent communication to the Strategic Partnerships team to ensure that customer payments

are applied effectively.

• Effectively communication with internal stakeholders in relation to the onboarding of new vendors,

following up approvals and timing of payments.

• Conducting supplier/customer reconciliations, ensuring outstanding supplier/customer account

issues are resolved.

WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE

• Identifying single variances within stores and contacting the Retail Operations team to resolve

in a timely manner.

• Completion of daily, weekly and month bank and merchant reconciliations and investigating

all variances.

• Ensuring all wholesale payments are journalled and applied to invoices correctly, and

customer statements are prepared for customers in a timely manner.

• Assisting with month end balance sheet reconciliations to ensure postings are correct and

resolving unreconciled items in a timely manner.

• Accurately entering invoices on a weekly basis, obtaining approvals for payment where

required

• All stock and general invoices are processed accurately and on time, with minimal rework

required.

• Preparation of payment reports to be reviewed by the Financial Accountant, with minimal

rework required.

• Daily sales uploads are completed with accuracy.

• Assisting with ad hoc compliance such as payment times reporting and government surveys.

• Identifying opportunities for cost reductions and raising with the Financial Accountant

• Assisting the Financial Accountant with implementation of new systems and processes

• Identifying any unapproved expenditure and raising with the Financial Accountant

system.

MEASUREMENTS OF SUCCESS

• Minimal unexplained variances for stores within POS system

• Other payment methods are reconciled monthly within required timeframes.

• Bank reconciliations are actioned daily, with all variances investigated and actioned.

• Minimal Aged Payables upon review of Weekly Payment Reports

• Sales are consistently uploaded with accuracy.

• Stock and General Accounts Payable Inboxes are effectively managed with all queries

actioned.

• Minimal rework required by Accountants at EOM in relation to Accounts Payable invoice

coding.

EXPERTISE

Knowledge/Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Finance related role

• Experience in an Accounts Payable role

• Background working in a retail store (Advantageous)

• Experience using NetSuite within the retail sector (Advantageous)
