[Send Payments] Senior Finance Manager
The Senior Finance Manager is the custodian of the financial and accounting function, responsible for ensuring the absolute integrity of the financial records that underpin our highly differentiated and scalable proposition and a key member of the company’s LeadCo.
This role requires a unique blend of technical accounting expertise and commercial insight to interpret the financial performance of an API-led, product-centric business model with large, sticky enterprise customers. You will manage the entire financial reporting cycle (GL to statutory accounts, budgeting, and forecasting) and coach one direct report, while actively contributing to the financial analysis of vertical market performance and partner-led activation models.
Key Responsibilities
I. Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management (50%)
- Financial Integrity & GL Ownership: Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recognized and classified in compliance with AASB/IFRS.
- Monthly Management Accounts: Complete the entire month-end close and produce Management Accounts for the Leadership Team and Board.
- Statutory Compliance: Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and serve as the primary contact for external auditors. Manage all taxation compliance obligations (BAS, FBT, Corporate Tax, R&D incentive).
- Financial Administration: The management and provision of corporate cards, invoice approvals and review, payroll review, etc.
II. Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) (30%)
- API-Led Revenue Analysis: Develop reporting methodologies to accurately track and forecast revenue derived from the API-led platform and Enterprise Customers
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, translating platform and product roadmaps into accurate financial projections.
- Scalability & Cost: Provide deep analytical insights into the company’s operating expenditure (OPEX) and unit economics, advising leadership on infrastructure, compliance, and team costs to maintain a highly differentiated and scalable proposition.
- Stakeholder Management: assist and manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders as and when they arise.
III. Team Leadership & Process Optimization (20%)
- Supervision and Coaching: Directly manage and mentor the Accountant, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of all core accounting tasks (payroll, reconciliations, AP, accruals).
- Process Automation: Champion continuous improvement in the finance function by leveraging the API-led nature of the business. Seek to automate data flow from the platform into the GL to reduce manual intervention and enhance real-time reporting accuracy.
- Controls & Risk: Implement robust internal controls and policies tailored to a regulated FinTech environment, particularly around recurring enterprise payments and FX risk management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Professional Qualification: CA or CPA qualified.
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of relevant accounting and FP&A experience.
- Systems Acumen: Advanced MS Excel skills and significant experience with modern Accounting Systems.
Desirable
- Direct experience in FinTech, Payments, or scale up companies
- At least 5 years of experience in an FP&A role
